Tiny Tots

Ages 2-5

Aimed at children aged 3 – 5 years, this class encourages students to use their imagination and expand their creativity, whilst developing a grounding dance technique. With the use of props such as: Scarves, Wands and Musical Instruments students will learn to express themselves through dance.


Our mission is to assist students in the development of rhythm coordination, musicality, and creativity as well as the ability to follow directions, interact with peers, take turns patiently and gain self-confidence.

Ballet

Ages 6+

Ballet is a classical style of expressive dancing based on precise conventional steps with gestures and movements of grace and fluidity.

KVD does not use a specific ballet syllabus, however holds structured classes designed to increase and enhance students ability.

Contemporary / Lyrical

Ages 6+

Lyrical dance is expressive, simultaneously subtle and dynamic, focused on conveying musicality and emotion through movement. It is a combination of intricate, highly technical, and pedestrian/naturalistic moves


Contemporary is a form of dance influenced by both classical ballet and modern dance. It takes is technique and body control using abdominal strength from classical ballet; it permits a greater range of movement, and usually tells a story or theme in its choreography.

Jazz

Ages 6+

An ever-evolving dance form full of rhythm, syncopation, flexibility and style. Jazz is taught with the music of today together with the classical jazz of yesterday.


Kiewa Valley Dance focusses on the technical side of Jazz dance and introduces students to various styles of Jazz available.

Funk / Hip Hop

Ages 6+

A high energy class that uses music from R&B and pop genres, combined with movements influenced by some of the hottest video clip & film choreographers. Students will explore the use of sharp and smooth movements, with room for their individual style and personality development.

Strength & Conditioning

Ages 6+

This class allows dancers the opportunity to strengthen their bodies to complement their technical and stylistic dance training and prevent injuries.


This class provides students with a safe environment to improve their personal capacity and flexibility

Adult Dance Fitness

Ages 18+

Catered to all fitness and dance levels, this class will incorporate flexibility, strength and cardio.
